How to Choose the Right Hairstyle for Your Face Shape

In choosing the right hairstyles for your face shape, it's important to know your shape in the first place. While your barber or stylist can help you determine face shape and create a hairstyle that compliments your shape and features, the guidelines below will help give you some insight on things to consider before going to the salon. Let's take a look at face shapes and adjustments which can be made to the haircut to provide balance and enhance your look.

A Round Face: The key here is to provide balance. Stay away from full or round hairstyles as they will make the face appear more round. Keep the sides leaner and style the hair a bit higher at the top and front to provide balance. An off-center part or some waves at eye level will help minimize roundness. Round faces are better with more square hairstyles. Examples of a male celebrities with a round faces are Elijah Wood and Jack Black.

A Square Face: Similar to the round face, keep the sides leaner and short, while wearing the top longer and styled a bit higher. Keep the hair clean around the ears and make sure the style mirrors the square shape of the face - this will help make the square face shape pop. Think of David Beckham. He got it right. Nick Lachey is another celebrity with a square face shape.

An Oval Face: Most any style is suitable as this is considered the ideal face shape. That said, attention should be paid to other prominent features such as the nose and position of the eyes and ears. If you fall into the Oval category, consider yourself lucky as almost any style will look good on you. Actors with oval face shapes include Barry Watson and Jude Law.

A Long Face: A style which is longer on the sides and short on top will make the face appear less long and provide better balance. Go with a cut that has some layers and is worn so the front hairline is disguised. A neatly groomed beard can help provide additional balance. Don't allow the facial hair to become too long as this will lengthen the face. Glasses can also provide balance by dividing the face and drawing attention away from the length of the face. Eminem and Keifer Sutherland are stars with long faces.

A Triangular Face: To balance out a triangular face shape, choose a style that will narrow your forehead area and add the illusion of width to the chin. An offset part with bangs swept to the side and a beard can help accomplish this. Justin Timberlake (who is a great example to follow) and Ryan Gosling have good examples of triangular shaped faces.

A Diamond Face: For the diamond face shape, the goal is to minimize wider cheekbones and balance out a narrow chin and forehead. To do this, opt for a style with bangs to minimize the forehead. Longer shag hairstyles also work well for the diamond face. Famous guys with diamond shaped faces include Pete Wentz and Dane Cook

Fashion Ring Trends- What's In?

What is everyone is wearing? Fashion is trendy, it is comfortable, and it is completely subjective. Celebrities, designers and retail stores try to dictate fashion, but really what it boils down to is what each individual likes and wears. When it comes to jewelry, designers understand this and they make something for everyone. Oh sure, they are always trying to start a new trend by walking a design down the red carpet, but they also stick close to the ideals of their most plentiful customers- the non-celebrities who know what they like and what they don't.

To a person who loves the animal, dolphin rings are going to appeal to them no matter what. Other cool designs include butterfly rings. Gemstones make up the wings and body and it sits as if it has alighted on the band. This fashion piece is sweet and makes a great gift for a little girl or the woman who loves the delicate femininity of the piece.Fashion rings can also have meaning as well as look fantastic. Claddagh rings are from an old Irish tradition. Clasping hands with a heart in the middle symbolize love, fidelity and loyalty to the other person. How it is worn indicates whether the woman is single, spoken for or actually married. It has really gained a contemporary following as a fashion piece and as a wedding band. Men and women enjoy wearing this particular piece.

Following the love theme, heart rings are particularly popular as a gift on Valentine's Day. Usually, the small rubies or garnets form the shape or a single stone could be cut into a heart-shape. Gold and silver may also be cast into this shape. Whatever her preference, there is something she is sure to love.Fashion pieces also include birthstone rings. These can be simple or abstract in design and have other gemstones such as diamonds added for a little more pizzazz. There is a huge selection of chunky, delicate, flashy, simple but above all fashionable pieces for women and men.The variety allows people to express themselves, show of their personality and even change with their moods from day to day. Maybe she is feeling girly and flirty one day, but the next she wants her jewelry to shout "I'm in love!" She can do this with butterflies and hearts. Don't miss out on the opportunity to accessorize. Remember, it doesn't have to be what "everyone" else is wearing. Follow the trends or make a unique statement, the options are endless.

Tips on Dressing for a Job Interview

Tips on Dressing for a Job Interview - Your interview attire is more important than you think so let your talent and personality get you noticed, not your wild tie or brightly colored socks. The right clothes give you an opportunity to make the right impression. I have outlined 4 important tips on dressing for a job interview.

On the day of our interview, before you even begin to get dressed, there is one thing you should avoid. You may be tempted to follow your normal routine of splashing your favorite cologne or aftershave on after you hop out of the shower. Don’t do it for your interview, you don’t want to overwhelm the interviewer. They may not like your fragrance as much as you do.

What to Wear. . .
To a more formal interview: It helps to know how formal the company you will be interviewing with is and if wearing a suit is necessary. I hate to state the obvious, but it is important to go in a suit and tie to any company that's part of a more formal industry, such as banking, law or brokerage. Choose a basic black, dark gray or navy suit. Also opt for black leather lace-up shoes and a black belt. Blue shirts are a great choice since they compliment most skin tones and easily coordinate with most suit colors. Choose a flattering tie that goes well with both the suit and shirt you have chosen. To a less formal interview: Some less formal industries such as software development and technology companies will not require a suit. However, it's better to wear something a little nicer than what everyone in the office is wearing. So choose something dressy but casual. Such ensembles might include pressed khakis or trousers, a well pressed button-down shirt, and of course some sort of nice looking dress shoe and matching belt. You may even want to thrown on a blazer. Navy blazers look great with khaki pants.

Pay attention to details such as matching your belt to the color of your shoes. Choose black shoes if your outfit consists of dark gray, navy, brown or black. Opt for dark brown shoes if you'll be wearing tans or medium toned colors. I hate to sound like your mother, but polish or clean your shoes before your interview. Scuff marks on your shoes make you look tattered, and we can't have that.Keep interview accessories minimal and professional. Use some sort of bound portfolio to carry your resume, references or other papers. Men should limit jewelry to a wristwatch and cufflinks if you wear them. Earrings, necklaces, nose rings, and such are not interview material (for the man who wants the job anyway). Whatever the type of industry, men should wear jewelry sparingly.

Shoe Trends for Spring Summer 2010

Shoes this spring give an option for comfort as well as being bang on trend. In amongst the usual clutch of vertiginous heels comes lower footwear such as clogs, brogues and kitten heels. So it’s say goodbye to bunions and blisters in the name of fashion!

Fashion goes Dutch with the clutch of clogs ruling the runways this season. Spring summer 2010 sees a makeover of the wooden clog; be it wedged, platformed or studded.

Born to be worn to complement this season’s shoter then shoter and simple shirt dresses, like it or not, 2010 is the year of the clog.. This ’70s-inspired favorite from the runways of Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Vera Wang is set to become summer’s coolest (and comfortable) shoe trend.2010 sees fashion taking a sensible pill when it comes to comfort and longevity. In amongst the grown up pieces and enduring cuts and colors of this season’s runways, the kitten heel is back on the prowl. For those who refuse to bow to the 4-inch sky-high footwear but feel frumpy in flats, the kitten heel gives just enough height to flatter an outfit and give a lift to legs.

Fashion’s love affair with the ankle boot continues to endure. Dubbed “summer boots”, styles remain fierce and funky but fabrics have a softer edge. This season sees ankle-sandals, lace-ups, bandage-style straps, wedges, and peep-toes to show off that summer pedicure. Find them in canvas and soft slouchy leather in a palette of nude and go-with everything colors like military khaki. Use them to add attitude to this spring and summer's floaty chiffons.

Spring wouldn’t be spring without a touch of tribal. Show off a wild side with the season’s sexy animal print sandals, with their dramatic stitching and striking shapes. These vertiginous heels are to be partnered with bold floral dresses; or wear them with rolled-up cargo pants.

Socks also take centre stage this spring. Show a rebellious streak by wearing them with sandals. This spring sees schoolgirl-inspired knee highs, cute ankle socks and thigh-high (a carry over from Winter’s over-the-knee boot) in sporty, lacy or sparkly versions. Layer them over tights or wear them with platforms for an up-to-the-minute look.Whether its wooden clogs, Oxford brogues, tribal print sandals, ankle boots, decorative ultra-high platforms or the more demure kitten heel — the fashion world's eyes are on legs for Spring Summer 2010.

Modern Hair styles

Modern hairstyles, always have some connection to the old. Most of them are throw backs to the trendy fashions of yesterday. Whether from the 40's, 50's or 60's, most of the popular modern hairstyles, of today didn't originate that way. The beautiful thing about the present it that these hairstyles, may have been adopted from long ago. But they definitely have a current spin on them, that makes them the rave of the fashion world. The pixie cut, although popular, is not the only short style hitting the streets. A familiar one is short in the back, and long in the front. Women typically sport this cut with a lifted layered back style. Then the front is either layered or straight. This hair cut is very versatile. It can be worn by those with curly or wavy hair. Most often, you see ladies with straight hair wearing this style.

Some times they incorporate layered wisps in the front, or even a middle part. These various spins on the style, are straight from the fashion pages. This is another type of style that really accentuates the face. It also has that hint of youthful, exuberance. The emo is one of these popular hairstyles. Deja vu anyone? This style looks like we've stepped back into the mid 80's. It is hugely influenced by the whole punk rock phase. In this style we see a little European class, mixed with the rock theme. It can be as spiked or as short as you want. The signature component to the emo, is the long swept bang in the front. This bang is swooped around the forehead on either side. The opposite side is traditionally short and designed in a funky way. Some choose to wear this style as short as possible, while others prefer the tailored look. Another spin on this is using the sideburns to completely comb the face.

Fashion-trends are cyclic in nature, the history of women's fashion has witnessed many trends coming in and fading away eventually. But there are some trends which not only survived beyond a certain time frame but reinvented themselves thereby becoming immortal. These classics are not mere designs but visions drafted with utmost purity and clarity in terms of design processes.

LITTLE BLACK DRESSES

The little black dress is a semi-formal evening wear outfit with simple cuts and short length originally made popular in the 1920s by veteran designer called Coco-Chanel.Projected by Chanel to be a long-lasting, versatile, affordable, and accessible to the widest market possible and in a neutral color.Through this paper we would be discussing the power of this sensuous outfit after all it doesnt happens everyday in the fashion world where a designs continued ubiquity is such that many refer to it by the abbreviation LBD.

HISTORY

Wearing the color black and mourning used to be occasions going hand in hand, black a neutral among other colors was always offered a step treatment, a subject of detest, something which everyone would like to avoid coming across. With painters painting black as evil, authors writing about the negativity associated with, it was nothing more then a symbol of fatality and casualty. For example the painting called Portrait of Madame X, by John Singer Sargent.First the world war-1 and next the deadly Spanish flu knocking the doors, many lifes were lost in Europe, as a result women appearing in black in public became a common site. To add to that since during the Victorian and the Edwardian ages, a widow was expected to wear several stages of mourning dress for at least two years.
